Job Description

MSLA has an established, strong reputation for delivering high quality medical-legal reports and providing excellent customer service. We seek contractors who strive for the same in all they do.  Job entails but is not limited to:

• Distinguish between homonyms, and recognize inconsistencies and mistakes in medical terms, referring to dictionaries, drug references, and other sources on anatomy, physiology, and medicine.
• Review and edit transcribed reports or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology.
• Return dictated reports in electronic form for physicians' review, signature, and corrections.
• Type dictation from digital voice files, then convert dictated materials to written form (MS Word Document)
• Translate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms to ensure the accuracy of examinee records.

In addition to the above:

1. Transcriber will be notified, in advance, of assignments.
2. Interested parties must be able to type from .WAV, MP3, .VOC, .DSS, .DS2, and .WMA voice files.
3. High-speed internet (DSL/Cable) required, dial up not an option.
4. Audio files will be delivered via secure web portal.
5. Word processing must be done in MS Word 2003 or 2007.
6. Transcriber has 48 hours to type and return reports to MSLA once received.
7. Reports will be delivered via secure web portal.

Education, Experience and Skills

• Medical terminology experience.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite
• A minimum of three years' of medical/legal transcription experience is required.
• Must be familiar with WC terminology and report content.
• Position is as an Independent Contractor (working remotely).  MT must live/work in the United States, off shore applicants need not apply.
